COLCHESTER  SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

The Puffin Ensemble was formed, informally, during the tea-break between the rehearsal and performance of an undefined choral work some 17 years ago. The bassoonist said, ‘ Hey, can any of you come and play some Mozart wind octets in my Dad’s garden, late July, to support the restoration of the Stutton Village Church’. All the wind players looked at each other and said, “Yes, we can do that’. The Puffin Ensemble was, thus, formed and has performed many concerts since then. Members of the Ensemble have been the Principal Wind players of the Colchester Symphony Orchestra for about 20 years.
